Peace Always Within Reach

An Advent Reflection In times of striving and conflict, one cannot help but imagine a future day of respite and harmony. And when the world is marked by international turmoil, cries for peace radiate around the world. The spouse, children, and parents of the soldier serving in the thick of the battle long for nothingContinue reading “Peace Always Within Reach”

Persevering in the Walk of Faith

At about a year old, a baby finally learns to walk. For months, the child has been motoring around the home by crawling on all fours. After plenty of practice pulling themselves up to stand and countless tumbles, the child takes his or her first steps. Parents enshrine the moment of their child’s first stepsContinue reading “Persevering in the Walk of Faith”

The Promise of the Father

God raised Jesus from the dead, and we are all witnesses of this. Now he is exalted to the place of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today. (Acts 2:32–33,Continue reading “The Promise of the Father”

With Childlike Faith in the Risen Lamb

Then when they were alone, he turned to the disciples and said, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you have seen. I tell you, many prophets and kings longed to see what you see, but they didn’t see it. And they longed to hear what you hear, but they didn’t hear it.” (Luke 10:23-24 NLT)Continue reading “With Childlike Faith in the Risen Lamb”

Words Unfading and Unchanging

“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass awayContinue reading “Words Unfading and Unchanging”

The God “Who IS”

In the Hebrew scriptures, the divine name Yahweh literally means “I AM WHO I AM” (Ex. 3:14). He is the God “who is.” Yahweh was the prized name for God among the Israelites. Known as the tetragrammaton, the pronunciation of this four-letter term in Hebrew, which never appears with its own vowels, is debated. ItContinue reading “The God “Who IS””

Greetings subscribers and fellow bloggers. I hope you are well! May you find strength in God today as your refuge and strong tower. Interview with Craig Dumont on Dr. Palma’s Book “Italian American Pentecostalism and the Struggle for Religious Identity”

It was a pleasure interviewing with Craig Dumont of the Pentecostal Pastor website on my book ITALIAN AMERICAN PENTECOSTALISM AND THE STRUGGLE FOR RELIGIOUS IDENTITY. The interview was filmed on-site at this year’s IFCA national convention outside the dinner gala (Craig’s background canceling microphone mutes most of the background dinner noise).
